To adapt a Tamiya 102B kit, these modifications are needed:
Front
- Nose different (will make a resin copy from 101)
- wing upper element is smaller
- brake ducts are same
- steering rod has other position
- no air inlet on nose
- small "buckle" in front of cockpit (late season version)
- tyres / wheels / rims are same
- antenna on left sidepod
- front wing end plates seem to differ from race to race
Rear
- wing end plates a bit smaller, but same shape
- similar, Japan GP spec has 2 elements
- brake ducts and suspension are same
- tyres / wheels / rims are same
- same wheelbase as 102B, but rear wing seems more backward mounted
Engine/Gearbox
- Engine Dimensions: 102 - 620x540x480mm; 102B - 555x525x615mm
- Gearbox is same according to my data (Lotus/Lamborghini)
- drivetrain must be shorter than 102B, maybe there's only a spacer between engine and gearbox on the 102B
Engine cover
- Both side pods closed
- front of sidepod shape seem ok
- rear has v-shape
- different engine "bulbs"
- top of cover has arrow shape (to back)
- rear cover has two small air inlets on top of the engine
- emergency pull on left top
- top front has a small hole
