I always wanted an M1 as this is one of the purest racing cars ever produced.

I finally got one of the old ESCI kits on eBay about 1 year before the current Revell re-issue ;-)
However, the quality of the old kits is not up to the usual Tamiya standards. Many filing and surface prepping is needed. The plastic seems already a bit brittle...
I do not want to modify this kit too much, just clean up the parts and build it according to references. I'll try to display the engine bay opened. I still have the original decal sheet, which is a bit aged. I think, I will try it first, and if unhappy use one of the new sheets available in aftermarket.
